[edit] Delay Possible
If any of you have a chance to check out Matt Cassamassina (of IGN Wii)'s Podcast, he did mention that a delay is possible. Really just rumor, but I'm giving you a head's up in case it does happen.
Here's the URL [1]
Delays are always possible; however, it may not be true like u said, as it is a launch title. However, if there is a delay, we'll simply change the release date. (11987 08:57, 15 August 2006 (UTC))

[edit] Wait. . .doesn't this game come before Metroid II?
Metroid II comes before Super Metroid. . .
- EDIT*
This is Wiklipedia user suprememaster, and yes, it comes just before Metroid 2: Return of Samus
The order of the Metroid Series goes (at least to my knowledge):
1.) Metroid(original)/Metroid Zero Mission
2.) Metroid Prime(original)/Metroid Prime Pinball
3.) *Demo*/Metroid Prime Hunters: First Hunt
4.) Metroid Prime 2: Echoes
5.) *E3 Demo*/Metriod Prime 3: Corruption
6.) Metroid 2: Return of Samus
7.) "SUPER METROID" aka Metroid 3
8.) "Metroid Fusion" aka Metroid 4
...and after Metroid Fusion, there was suppost to be a "Metroid Dread", but rumors say it got canceled (not to mention that (to my knowledge) Metroid Dread was also believed to be a rumor itself :-/ )
--SUPREME 22:52, 12 May 2006 (UTC)
Typo on my part. Dread Lord CyberSkull ✎☠ 23:14, 12 May 2006 (UTC)
- Does anyone hace a link leading to a site that explicitly says Corruption comes before Return of Samus? Otherwise, it's speculation, and it makes more sense to me that she would become corrupted by Phazon with much more ease if she was part Metroid. That, of course, is also speculation, but it is something to consider if there is no proof for the above timeline
-
- Erm, all the Prime games occur before Return of Samus. That's fact; you need a link to prove otherwise, not the other way around. Also, I don't know what Samus's suit being corrupted with Phazon has to do with her being "part Metroid," when the only thing even close to that would eb the events in Fusion, in which case she doesn't even have the Varia suit anymore which is clearly visible in MP3.--Claude 07:32, 22 May 2006 (UTC)
SPOILER TIME! Metroid is refrenced in Metroid Prime, and thus before it Super Metroid is immediately after Metroid II, because the beginning cutscenes refrence Metroid II Metroid Fusion is last because Samus dosn't have the Varia Suit MP:H is between Prime and Prime 2 because the developer said so, and because the Ship is from Prime, but the suit is from Prime 2 Metroid Prime is before Super Metroid (and Metroid II), because pirate logs refrence the fall of Zebes, and indicate that teams have been sent back to rebuild Zebes and Mother Brain, but do not state they have completed their mission. So the Sequence is:
1)Metroid/Zero Mission
2)Metroid Prime/Pinball
3)Metroid Prime: Hunters/First Hunt
4)Metroid Prime 2: Echoes
5)Metroid II
6)Super Metroid
7)Metroid Fusion
All that is known about Prime 3 is that because Samus has the Varia Suit, it must occur before Metroid Fusion, and after Prime 2, because it is based around the plot that Phazon has spread, and there is no mention of phazon spreading in Prime 2, so it must come after that point. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 71.245.224.201 (talk • contribs) 23:14, 9 June 2006 (UTC)
It was stated Prime 3 is a direct sequel to Prime 2, meaning it takes place immediately after.Xubelox 21:33, 11 July 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Be careful with editing
Originally, there was information in the article naming the subtitle of this game Corruption, and then somebody decided to take it off, on the grounds that "this isn't the place for name speculation". If you're going to be that stupid, don't mess with the article! It caused me some trouble, and I'd like it if the paranoid editors just stayed away from the articles about video games.
- It had no factual evidence to back it up, therefore, it makes perfect sense that an editor removed it since there was no official evidence before today that the game's subtitled was Corruption.--Claude 23:50, 9 May 2006 (UTC)
-
- Agreed. What if we left it here, and it was subtitled something else? We'd feel foolish then. And you be mad at us for giving you misinformation. --M1ss1ontomars2k4 04:48, 10 May 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Metroid Prime 3 "leaked" screens
Should fake screens really be featured in the article when they can't even be verified? Especially considering that this wouldn't be the first "leak" claimed to be from a Retro Studios game for the Revolution? Claude 00:09, 11 December 2005 (UTC)
- Not unless fake screens are part of the article text. Dread Lord CyberSkull ✎☠ 07:12, 19 February 2006 (UTC)
Can they even be called fakes? It was Nintendo that actually showed them so they must be real in one form or another... - Bendragonbrown47, 10 April, 09:16
-
- I believe those kinds of screens are called mock-ups. --SheeEttin 01:39, 24 April 2006 (UTC)
If the screenshots were released by Nintendo, then it is only fair that they be shown. Besides, in the past, Nintendo has created fake websites that advertise their games without actually stating the games name. It`s almost subliminal advertisement. Remember the screenshot of the rendered Kraid¿ Keep in mind that even some screenshots being released may have been designed by Retro Studios, but have become trashed projects.—The preceding unsigned comment was added by 216.108.4.74 (talk • contribs).

[edit] Media
"Only Revolution game for which Nintendo has displayed media." - What about Red Steel, these are actually screenshots, but do those count as media? I opt for that line to be removed. - Bendragonbrown47, 10 April, 09:15
- However, I do not believe Nintendo was the one to officially release the screens to the public in GameInformer. It was Ubisoft Paris who leaked the screens. However, it could also be considered that Nintendo had to agree to leak the screens. So, if anything, change it to "Only Nintendo-made game to have displayed media.-- Darknut Slayer 21:15, 12 April 2006 (UTC)
-
- How about just "Nintendo game" instead of "Nintendo-made game"? --SheeEttin 01:39, 24 April 2006 (UTC)
- No, because then we'd go back to the Red Steel argument again. Red Steel is clearly for Revolution, but it's not made by nintendo. --M1ss1ontomars2k4 20:25, 7 May 2006 (UTC)
- N has relesead plenty of info on games at the press conference, you can watch it on gamespot.
- No, because then we'd go back to the Red Steel argument again. Red Steel is clearly for Revolution, but it's not made by nintendo. --M1ss1ontomars2k4 20:25, 7 May 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Invasion
A link to this page was provided on an IGN messageboard, and several of its users are now invading. This is where the heavy vandalism is coming from.--Claude 03:48, 7 May 2006 (UTC)
- Should we request semi-protection? It would definitely help, but right now there's not that much vandalism going on, so we can't make a case right now. --M1ss1ontomars2k4 20:27, 7 May 2006 (UTC)
- Well they're gone now, but it can be argued that, since a wealth of information is to be revealed on this game this week at E3, it will be seeing a lot of traffic and inevitably more vandalism in the process.--Claude 22:55, 7 May 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Dark Samus
Someone please find a lisened picture of Dark Samus and put it on the site.
WHy? it's already there...and it isn't from Metroid Prime 2
- >x<ino 13:20, 10 May 2006 (UTC)
Because the image is not licened and will be deleted.
Lincened to who? Do you mean sourced? It as been linked to a source. And Gamespot are the provider of the image.
- >x<ino 01:49, 12 May 2006 (UTC)
- Xino, the image was used for decoration, not critical commentary. Since it was licensed under Fair Use, it should not be used on this page: it does not add significantly to the article, nor does it constitute the least amount of fair use images necessary for the article, each of which are dictated by Wikipedia's Fair Use Policy. I've therefore removed the Dark Samus image, and a number of others, for these two reasons. RandyWang (raves/rants) 23:31, 12 May 2006 (UTC)
Wait, are you even sure that is Dark Samus. The pose is identical to Samus's and Dark Samus was last seen with transparent armor. (11987 02:09, 13 May 2006 (UTC))
Randy, who told you it was Fair use? did gamespot told you that!?
Anyway...Retro studio said, Dark Samus has gone through some changes.
- >x<ino 22:10, 13 May 2006 (UTC)
- Xino, what copyright information did those images have to explicitly state that they were not fair use? Without that information, they're assumed to be fair use, particularly given that they came from a commercial organisation like GameSpot. RandyWang (raves/rants) 22:04, 13 May 2006 (UTC)
So...where do you expect it to come from? Afrka?:P
- >x<ino 22:10, 13 May 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Plot
The plot written is wrong. Dark Samus isn't going to different planet to corrupt it with Phazon. Dark Samus is actually following the Space Pirates and trials of Phazon in certain planets. Why is Dark Samus doing that? To life ofcousre and gain advance powers. Each time she absorb some phazon into her, she gain more abilities.
- >x<ino 17:29, 11 May 2006 (UTC)
- The Pirate's and Dark Samus's relationship has changed a bit between Echoes and Corruption:
"-Dark Samus is once again returning, probably for the final time. -Her design has been completely changed, for some reason. -Unlike Echoes, Dark Samus has a major part in the storyline this time around. -She has teamed up with the Space Pirates, initiating the movement to corrupt each planet with a Phazon Seed."1 "-Dark Samus and the Space Pirates, after a rocky start to their relationship in Echoes, have teamed up. -Waging all out war against the Galactic Federation, they are moving from planet to planet, corrupting them with Phazon Seeds. "1 --216.221.64.245 14:24, 12 May 2006 (UTC)
-
- Dark Samus has not teamed up with anyone, nor is she the one waging war wit hthe federation.--Claude 07:34, 22 May 2006 (UTC)
Please provide the URL or information of the resource that you are exctracting this information from. Without the information, this contradiction just seems ignorant. It would be much appreciated if you simply attached a bibliography.
Thanks, Metroid Fan
[edit] I have edited one word on this page
I know it's not that important, but I've changed the word "Gun" to "Arm Cannon". It is the official name of the weapon, after all.
But since some people don't know that, I'm aware that you may have purpously used the word "Gun" instead of "Arm Cannon", so people get an easier idea to what they are talking about (the big weapon attached to the Power Suit's "side.")
Although, I'm still wondering if I should change it back or not. It's up to Wikipedia.—The preceding unsigned comment was added by 216.108.4.74 (talk • contribs).
- Nothing wrong with that. --RedZion-- May 12 2006
[edit] Also important.
Could anyone help me update the other Metroid pages with this new info?
[edit] Can this image be put anywhere in the article?
thumb|left|Ridley Cutscene
Not if you're going to use it for decoration. Unless it was released under a free license, it should not be used unnecessarily. RandyWang (raves/rants) 20:54, 14 May 2006 (UTC)
Oh, okay. I find some interesting images recently. I should just run it by on Discussion. Thanx.

[edit] Somebody having trouble counting?
In the first sentence it says MP3 is the 8th game in the series. However, it's actually the 9th. I'll keep it as 8th for now in case someone had a reason for putting it as the 8th game. ShadowUltra 02:21, 16 May 2006 (UTC)
Metrod, Return of Samus, Super, zero mission, fusion, prime 1, prime 2, prime hunters, prime pinball. If you count that, it is actually the tenth. perhaps it is you who has had trouble counting? (11987 09:15, 16 May 2006 (UTC))
Metroid Prime 3 is actually the 4th in the Prime sub series. (Metroid Prime: Hunters included)
Or possibly even the fifth if one includes Prime Pinball. (11987)
Actually, I wasn't counting Prime Pinball as an actual game, more of a spin-off. ShadowUltra 20:45, 30 May 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Ridley
Although Ridley is one of the antagonist in the Metroid series, I have to say, he is by far the coolest character on the game. Second only to Samus.
- ...and what does this have to do with anything?--Claude 03:51, 19 May 2006 (UTC)
Well he makes a return, in this return he wasn't Metal Ridely but its previous self. Who knows if he does come back in the final version, because this was only a demo
- >x<ino 07:43, 19 May 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Control
I don't know why this article is mentioning how to play this game with the Wii remot!? If it's explaining that, then it should go to a cheat website of GameFaQs. To explain how to play it, it is best to use "jump". "fire" "duck". Instead of saying "B", "Z" ect
- >x<ino 01:45, 20 May 2006 (UTC)
Metroid Prime 3 will be a launch title, therefore it is one of the first games to use the revolutionary new controller. This control scheme should be documented, as it is a major part of the game and is totally new. It is relevant. More relevant than GameFAQs would be in the context of this article. Agent_Koopa 17:12, 22 May 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Hunters
According to the Samus Aran Wikipedia article, at least one of the hunters from Metroid Prime Hunters will be in MP3. Is this true? Is it Weavel!? SAMUS MUST FINISH HIM!!! --Gaming King 10:21, 4 June 2006 (UTC)
- Well, let's see here....
-
- Sylux hates the Feds, and he'd probably do something as low as joining the Pirates
- Noxus and Rundus are both Vhozon (okay, I'm just guessing about the Rundus part, but he does kinda look like one), and might make a darn good team
- Trace wouldn't care. He's done his job for the Krikens
- Spire wouldn't care either. There's no long lost race...yet
- Kanden would just kill everybody. Not really good for the plot to have a mass murderer
- Weavel is a Pirate, and has the longest history with Samus of the six
- Yeah, Weavels chances are lookin' pretty good right now. --DcPimp 01:32, 10 June 2006 (UTC)
-
- I don't remember it ever being officially stated that one of the MPH Hunters would appear.--Claude 03:32, 10 June 2006 (UTC)
-
-
- Well, I don't really remember anything like that either. But it has been going around on forums and other unofficial places. Seems it's nothing more than a rumor. I was just showing the odds of each character. --DcPimp 14:14, 10 June 2006 (UTC)
-
[edit] Planets/Areas
Should or shouldn't we start an areas page for MP3C? We already know two places in the game; planet Hydra/Phaza(not sure of name) and Sector Zero Base(shown in the game demo). Or does the areas belong in Areas in the Metroid series?-MF14
-- Well, seeing as how there isn't an article named 'Areas in Metroid Prime' I'd say it belongs in Areas in the Metroid series.
[edit] Trilogy?
Should the Metroid Prime series be counted as a trilogy? MP3 can't be the conclusion to a trilogy if you count Hunters. Sure, it's the end to the Phason storyline, but not to a trilogy.
Your right when you say that if you include MPH, it is not a trilogy, but it seems to have no connection to the other games, and Phazon. It seems to me that the the 'prime' in Metroid Prime Hunters is just saying its in first person. Anyways, Nintendo has already stated that metroid prime 3 finishes the trilogy. (11987 16:13, 28 June 2006 (UTC))
Metroid Prime Hunters is a bit of a spinoff game. Metroid Prime is indeed considered a trilogy. Plenty of trilogies have more than four games, but only have three main ones. Look at the Prince of Persia trilogy. It had Battles of Prince of Persia, but was still considered a trilogy. Same with the Jak trilogy and Jak X. --Gaming King 08:59, 1 July 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Images
A few things: Do we know for certain that the second picture is a hunter? Why are we calling the purple woman a "phazon lady" when there is nothing to suggest she's made of phazon no matter how many random fans theorize so (this doesn't just apply to the image)? Do we really need 2 pictures of Dark Samus? Has it been confirmed that that is the attack which causes the phazon corruption? Xubelox 21:28, 11 July 2006 (UTC)
Yes, the second is a hunter, as he is shown with the other hunters when they ae all together, plus he gets corrupted, like th others. The Phazon Lady should DEFINETLEY be emained; she purple, not blue or red. Not Phazon. As for 2 pics, its not neccesay but these no problem with it. and yes, the attack of lightining is what corrupts the hunters. (11987 21:51, 11 July 2006 (UTC))
- Okay, I changed the wording on the Phazon Lady, but I still left it in there. Let's face it, people; most people only know her as "Phazon Lady", regardless of how she appears. And Wikipedia is supposed to be User Friendly. Identifying things with other things that the people can relate to is part of that. --DcPimp 13:10, 12 July 2006 (UTC)
Ok, fine with me. (11987 17:02, 12 July 2006 (UTC))

[edit] Rock hunter?
I was wondering if anybody might have a picture of the "rock hunter" mentioned in the article. I want to see more about it, as the description that I have read seems to suggest the possibility that it is a Diamont. No, not neccesarily Spire, just a Diamont. The Diamonts are made of rock, and Spire, at least, has orange objects that resemble crystals embedded in his body, one of which is in his chest.
I believe the Hunter in question may be viewed at Youtbe; it is the demo's introduction. However, it does seem to hold a morph ball in its chest; because of this some have speculated that i can be controlled by morph bal. However, I would like to say that it looks nothing like a Diamont; unless all rock based creatures are Diamonts, it is probably not one due to body structure, color, and is totally different in looks. (11987 01:18, 2 August 2006 (UTC))
- Okay then. Thanks!
Um, Spire is the only Diamont left. So if there is a Diamont in Corruption, it has to be him.... 70.130.205.81 21:49, 15 August 2006 (UTC)Zedar
Actually, the fate of the Diamonts is unknown: extinction is likely, but not confirmed. (124.121.95.150 12:56, 4 September 2006 (UTC))
[edit] "Phazon Corrupted Version of Sylux"-When was this confirmed?
Sylux is in this game? Why does the picture say that? Sure, it sort of looks like Sylux, but where was it confirmed that he is in MP3? ShadowUltra
- It wasn't. That's Rundus. I'm changing it back. --Herald Alberich 22:49, 12 September 2006 (UTC)
- Yeah, after watching the demo, I realised that was Rundus and not Sylux. I wonder why someone put Sylux in there...on another note, where can you watch the video with Dark Samus, the "rock hunter", and the purple woman? I hear so much about it but have no idea where to watch it...ShadowUltra 22:50, 12 September 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Speech continuity error
I note that the article states that no past Metroid games have had spoken story or dialog. This is technically true, though the beginning history to Super Metroid had spoken historical, introductory text. It wasn't dialog, per se, but it's still worthy of note. I'll leave it unedited, however, and leave that jurisdiction to someone more experienced. --Thurinym 22:42, 5 November 2006 (UTC)
- Not to mention that Fusion had some dialogue in it (though not spoken).
--scatman839 11:31, 7 November 2006 (GMT) Well, it specifies spoken... if it's just text, it could be argued that MP and MP2 also had some. Super Metroid had actual spoken text, though it wasn't said by any character of the series (To the best of my knowledge.)--Thurinym 03:58, 8 November 2006 (UTC)
-
- There were voices in English in MP2, though they weren't speaking any written dialogue.--Claude 10:08, 12 November 2006 (UTC)

Where did March 30 come from? I see it's been reverted, but I'm just wondering where that date came from. ShadowUltra 00:36, 8 November 2006 (UTC)
- Someone linked to an online retailer selling preorders. On the page, the retailer expected to begin shipping the game on March 30, but that's not usually a reliable indicator, and certainly not a confirmed release date. --Herald Alberich 01:02, 8 November 2006 (UTC)

Was there a good reason? I know this was a while ago, but what do we need to know in order to have good enough pictures to upload? I'd like to have a gallery up again soon. -MF14
[edit] Continuity error
If the suit's apperance is linked to Samus's DNA, why didn't the phazon mutation cause a permanent change? unless this happens after Metroid fusion, wich I think is highly unlikely.
