Talk:Metatron Ore
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
- I have a bit of an issue with the sentience section. In its original form, it read like an argument to convince the reader of metatron's sentience, which is not quite in the scope of this article. The aim of this article is mainly to show what metatron had been demonstrated clearly to be capable of. The thing about metatron being sentient is mostly speculative. While there is room here for speculation and pointing out noteworthy traits, it should be clearly labeled as being speculative and should not be an entire section. That said, I left it in there because obviously a lot of effort went into creating it, I do not want to dismiss it off hand, and most of the arguments are valid. However, a couple of points argued I must take issue with. For example, the part about Nohman cutting off a man's hand. Anubis had nothing to do with that, since it occured when Dingo was serving under Nohman, years before Anubis was even built. That entry also seems to ignore other possible explainations. For example, it assumes that Idolo responded to the will of Radium while he was outside the cockpit. It is possible that instead Idolo's changing patterns were causing it to immitate Radium, doing what he would have wished it to in a given situation, and not necessarily him manipulating it directly. My opinion is that in the case of both Radium and Nohman, they were a little unstable to begin with. Not necessarily insane, but using an unprotected metatron interface overwhelmed them and brought out their "dark sides" so to speak. I also think that the control AIs in the orbital frames might have been added as a direct result of the Demios Incident, adding a layer of seperation between the pilot and the control system and thus protecting the pilot from metatron's feedback. Plus this article is in desperate need of citations, which I plan to start adding too. Fearless Son 00:59, 17 August 2006 (UTC)
