Mettingen

Mettingen is a village and a municipality in the district of Steinfurt, in North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany. It is situated approx. 25 km east of Rheine and 20 km west of Osnabrück. Population 12,391 (2005).

The founders of the textile company C&A, Clemens and August Brenninkmeyer, were born in Mettingen. Also Annika Suthe, participant of the 2004 Summer Olympics (javelin throw) was born there.
