Metropolitan Avenue is a station on the New York City Subway's IND Crosstown Line. It was renovated by New York City Transit's in-house contract. The north exit leads to the mezzanine and the passageway to the L, which is split up so the right half leads to Canarsie-bound trains while the left leads to a crossunder to Eighth Avenue-bound trains. The mezzanine is full length, but the south portion is used by a police facility and as employee space and offices. IND icon tiles indicate "To Street and Transfer." The south exit is an emergency exit and leads to Grand Street. There is another exit in the center of the station that is now abandoned and sealed.
