Metro Transit Route 6

Metro Transit Route 6 is a Metro Transit bus route. It starts at the University of Minnesota East Bank campus, serving the Stadium Village, Minneapolis and Dinkytown areas. It turns south on Hennepin Avenue, crossing the Mississippi River via the Hennepin Avenue Bridge and continuing along Hennepin throuth downtown Minneapolis and the Uptown area. South of Uptown, the route splits inito two branches, one running along Xerxes Avenue and one along France Avenue. The two branches meet again at Southdale Center in Edina. Some buses will then continue going south along France towards northwestern Bloomington. The portion of the bus route between 1st Street & Hennepin Avenue in downtown and 39th Street & Sheridan Avenue (just south of Lake Calhoun) is part of the Hi-Frequency Network. Route 6 operates 21 hours a day.
