Metrication in Ireland
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Republic of Ireland completed metrication in 2005. Northern Ireland, as part of the United Kingdom, continues to use Imperial units for some purposes, such as speeds and distances shown on road signs.
The only exception to the metrication process was the imperial unit "pint", which is still used in bars only. All other places must sell liquids in metric format.
