Metamorphic Force

Metamorphic Force was a 1993 arcade game made and distributed by Konami in Japan and The U.S. It is a side-scrolling Beat 'em up game.

The game's four main characters, Bar, Max, Claude and Ivan, were able to morph into anthropomorphic "beasts" (referred to as Beast Mode) by collecting a golden statue power-up. The power-up drops from either a random chest that falls from the sky, or through an anthropomorphic mouse appearing at random times and supplying the player with either a POWER-UP or a Beast Statue. When the players collect a statue when already in Beast Mode, the character performs a "Screen Attack" which destroys all onscreen enemies.

An evil king has risen from the dead to rule the planet once more. But the souls of four guardians, Bar, Max, Claude and Ivan, have returned to fight the evil once again. The guardians wield the ability to shift into anthropomorphic beasts, augmenting more power as they fight their enemies.
