- A village in the southwestern part of the island of Chios in Greece, see Mesta, Greece
- Hibiscus sabdariffa, an Indian fiber crop used as a substitute for jute. It is a cousin of the Kenaf plant (Hibiscus cannabinus). It is phonetically called Meshta in India by the Bengali community.
