Mervyn Bunter

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Mervyn Bunter is a fictional character created by Dorothy L. Sayers in her Lord Peter Wimsey stories. Sayers admitted having partially based Bunter's character on P. G. Wodehouse's Jeeves, though Wimsey deviated greatly from his original Wooster-like persona. Bunter is Lord Peter's valet; having previously served as his batman during World War I.

Bunter has almost as many talents as his master, including photography. Perhaps his most endearing quality is his penchant for caustic understatement.
