[edit] 2004-2007

The Mercury Monterey minivan was the Mercury variant of the 2004 Ford Freestar. It filled a gap in the Mercury lineup left after the cancellation of the Mercury Villager in 2002. Sales of the Monterey minivan were very low, and production ended in August 2006, after a short run of 2007 models. The Oakville Assembly plant underwent retooling for the Ford Edge and Lincoln MKX crossover SUVs. The last model rolled off the assembly line on August 25, 2006.

[edit] Earlier Mercury Montereys

Main article: Mercury Monterey (1950-1974)
  • The Monterey name first appeared in 1950, and continued until 1974, after which all full-size Mercurys took the Marquis name. This earlier iteration of Monterey was as a fullsize passenger automobile.
