Mercedes Llopart

Mercedes Llopart (b.1895, Barcelona, - d. 2 Sep 1970, Milan) was a popular Spanish soprano who later became a successful teacher of singing in Milan. Among her most illustrious pupils were Renata Tebaldi, Montserrat Caballé, Fiorenza Cossotto, Alfredo Kraus, Anna Moffo, Renata Scotto and Elena Souliotis.

She appeared at the world premiere of Wolf-Ferrari's opera Sly, at La Scala, in 1927 with the great Italian tenor Aureliano Pertile.
