Image:Meramec Lake exent topomap.jpg
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Description: A topographic map showing the extent of Meramec Lake had it been constructed.
Caption: This map shows the approximate extent of the permanent flood of the Meramec River basin in Missouri had the proposed dam at Sullivan been completed. This was the first dam project by the Corps of Engineers that was halted once construction had begun. Funding was withheld and the project eventually deauthorized by Congress after it was overwhelmingly rejected in a non-binding referendum of voters in twelve surrounding counties in 1978.
