[edit] Problem with dating and place in dynastic list
The article says Mentuhotep founded the dynasty, yet in the List of pharaohs he is placed fourth after Intef I with dates 2060-2010 BC while Intef is earlier in 2134-2117. Is there another Mentuhotep in the 21st century BC who preceded Intef? User:FeanorStar7
- This Mentuhotep is considered to have founded the dynasty, but he was merely a local prince and is therefore not mentioned in many lists, and Mentuhotep II is numbered as Mentuhotep I instead. See Eleventh dynasty of Egypt. Fornadan (t) 9 July 2005 10:27 (UTC)
