Family Menoponidae

Commonly referred to as the chicken body louse, the Menoponidae are a member of a larger group Mallophaga or the chewing lice. They are identified by their short antenna, concealed in grooves behind the eyes. To the naked eye, it may appear as though they have no antenna.
