Mengal

Mengal (Urdu: مینگل ) is a famous Baloch tribe. Mengals are inhabitants of Balochistan, Pakistan. People of the Mengal tribe also live in Afghanistan and Belgium. In Pakistan Mengal tribe lives in Balochistan and Sindh provinces. In Afghanistan Mengal tribe lives in Helmand and Nimruz provinces. A large population of the Mengal tribe also lives in Belgium. It appears that an ancestor of Mengals from South Asia would have arrived in Belgium in 18th century. The Mengals speak Balochi and Brahui. They also speak Sindhi in Sindh and French in Belgium. The Mengal tribe is divided in two major branches: Shahizai and Zagar. Sardar Ataullah Mengal is the chief of Shahizai branch and Sardar Asif Mengal is the chief of Zagar branch.
