Menaul School

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Menaul School is a private secondary school in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Though originally founded by Rev. Sheldon Jackson as "The Pueblo Training Center" in 1881, it was Rev. James A. Menaul, for whom the school is named, who in 1896 campaigned for mission funding from the Presbyterian Church to create a boarding school for Spanish-speaking boys from New Mexico. The school has strong historical significance in New Mexico, and especially in Albuquerque, where Menaul Blvd. and many other locations have been named for the school.

The school is still open today as a day school, rather than a boarding school, for both boys and girls in grades six through twelve.
