Is there any list of HoF players by team? Anybody want to try & create 1? Trekphiler 05:29, 22 December 2005 (UTC)

Scarcely a need for one, is there? HoFers are listed in the team pages, and the HHOF page links to the HHOF official website, which has a format-by-team page. RGTraynor 07:06, 22 December 2005 (UTC)

[edit] List by Induction Year

I was wondering if we should change the list so that it lists players by year of induction as opposed to name. This is how many sites list inductees and it would be more practical than listing by team, because many players have played on multiple teams during their career. Is it possible to create a second page and have one list by year and the other by name? Feedback welcomed. ~Scorpion0422

Listing by induction year and not name results in a completely impractical page; readers who know full well that Maurice Richard or Brad Park or Charlie Conacher are Hall of Famers haven't the first idea when they were inducted. A dual list? Sure, why not. RGTraynor 20:09, 23 May 2006 (UTC)
I'm not quite sure what it is your saying here. Do you think we should list JUST by induction year or not? And I'm not sure about Wikipedia policy, but there may be problems with us getting a second page. ~Scorpion0422
No, I definitely don't think we should list solely by induction year. RGTraynor 22:54, 24 May 2006 (UTC)
But why not? If someone is searching for a specific member, they can just look for that players individual page. And like you say, if it's REALLY important that a person find an alphabetical list, they can just go to the official website. I just think it makes a lot more sense to list by induction year. And I looked into it and the Baseball Hall of Fame and they have two seperate pages, so maybe we can too... ~Scorpion0422
Asked and answered in my comment above, and come to that, if it's really important that a person find a list by induction year, he or she can just go to the official website. Frankly, I can't see many reasons (if any at all) why it'd be vitally important to find out who was inducted in 1967 (for example). An induction year list in addition to the current alpha list, though, I can't see any harm in that. RGTraynor 03:44, 25 May 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Referees, Writers, Broadcasters...

Shouldn't they be added to this list? --Spark17 00:47, 29 May 2006 (UTC)

Writers and broadcasters aren't actually Honoured Members, per se. Referees and linesmen can be (as Builders), and are included in the list; I see Frank Udvari, Red Storey, Mickey Ion, Scotty Morrison, John Ashley, Neil Armstrong, Bill Chadwick, any number of others. Ah, I see. I over-looked the referees but I guess that's an easy thing to do. --Spark17 05:10, 29 May 2006 (UTC)
Actually, Referees/Linesmen are seperate from Builders. Anyway, perhaps we should seperate the three categories. We can still list alphabetically, but it would be a lot easier to read and there are a lot of benefits to listing by category. ~Scorpion0422
Makes sense to me. RGTraynor 01:52, 30 May 2006 (UTC)
