1 Victoria Park ALP MLA Geoff Gallop resigned from parliament and as Premier of Western Australia on January 16, 2006. ALP candidate Ben Wyatt won the resulting by-election on March 11.
2 Ballajura MLA and former state police minister John D'Orazio was forced to resign from the Australian Labor Party on August 25, 2006, after being involved in a series of public controversies. He has announced his intention to remain in parliament as an independent.
3 Peel ALP MLA Norm Marlborough resigned from parliament on November 10, 2006, after being sacked from Cabinet for lying to the Corruption and Crime Commission about his dealings with disgraced former Premier Brian Burke. A by-election for the seat will be held in the coming weeks.
