An highly awarded and respected figure in the Australian advertising industry, Phil was born to cattle farmers in the Queensland[[1]] city of Toowoomba[[2]].

After a tumultuous period during his school years, he was then educated at the University of Queensland and studied Animal Husbandry.

After graduating in Communications, Phil spent the next six years writing everything from retail advertising and corporate videos, to packaging, collateral and catalogues, both in Australia and the UK. ( He has even written for Woman's Day.).

In 1988, he changed his focus solely to advertising, working briefly as McCann Erikson before joining Young & Rubicam Sydney. He has worked on everything from Coca-Cola, Colgate Palmolive and Cold Power to Nescafé, United Airlines, Jaguar, Radisson Hotels and Foxtel.

His work has been recognised at award shows both locally and overseas, with his 1900-9-JIMBEAM campaign winning the coveted Grand Prix Direct at the 2003 Cannes Advertising Festival (only the third Australian entry in the history of the Festival to win a Grand Prix).

Phil joined The One Centre at the end of 2003 and has worked on campaigns for OPSM, Bacardi Lion and The One Centre as well as writing across all mediums for a variety of clients.
