Pastor Melissa Scott, was born in Italy on April 10, 1968 is an American citizen who announced her United States citizenship on a live broadcast in September 2005. She married Dr. Eugene Scott in 2000, as announced by Dr. Gene and Mrs. Melissa Scott on their live church service broadcast on the University Network. Having had a long time interest in languages, Melissa Scott studied closely with Dr. Scott and said that she was raised Catholic, a religion which she abandoned after hearing Dr. Scott's "Resurrection message." She has also stated that she became a couple with Dr. Scott in 1994. She became Dr. Gene Scott's third wife in 2000 after his divorce from his second wife Christine after their divorce in 1996. Melissa Scott described learning a great deal from Gene Scott before he ordained her as a minister. Dr. Scott was proud of his wife's skills as a business manager for a family-owned retailer and as a model. Melissa Scott has attributed her tutelage to Dr. Scott, citing no other theological or higher education. Mrs. Scott has announced on her broadcasts that she had not been on the staff of a church prior to her service as the Administrative Pastor to Dr. Gene Scott.

Mrs. Scott announced on a broadcast in 2006 to have learned the 17th language she has perused. Mrs. Scott integrated her linguistic interest with her late husband's valuable Bible and ancient manuscript collection (the largest in private hands in the world),according to Dr. Gene Scott.[citation needed] The collection is open for public viewing and located at the Los Angeles University Cathedral on Broadway, in Los Angeles, California.

In addition to teaching on Sundays from the University Cathedral, Scott announced on the University Network that she will be occasionally conducting services at the church's mausoleum near Berkeley, in Northern California, realizing her late husband's long held desires. Furthermore, Mrs. Scott announced making two trips to the evening chapel service for inmates at San Quentin State Prison. Mrs. Scott expressed her praise of the faith of these inmates.

On August 20, 2006, Pastor Scott announced that KDOC Channel 56 in Orange County, California, would no longer be carrying University Network, citing the new owner's choice for other programming. Scott wished the KDOC management well and has purchased more air time on several radio and television stations across the country, as well as on satellite (DirecTV and Dish Network) and on cable channels. The continuous broadcast on internet as well as exclusive C-band and Ku-band satellites remain unaffected. Unfortunately many of the old recordings of Gene Scott's teachings have been damaged with time and storage and require extensive editing by volunteer staff and outside experts.

In early December 2006 Pastor Melissa Scott announced that the high expenses to maintain the cathedral might mean the return of Sunday services to Kings' House I, the former Faith Center, in Glendale. Melissa Scott announced a banquet that will be held on February 21, 2007, to commemorate the death of her husband, Dr. Gene Scott.

Like her late husband, Melissa Scott preaches the message that, "Faith is action, based upon belief, sustained by confidence in following me as I follow Christ."

Pastor Melissa Scott teaches that the basis for coming to God is not one's perfection (Dr. Scott and her both have referred to themselves by quoting Paul, "I am the chiefest of sinners"), but God's grace (unmerited favor) through Jesus Christ's atoning sacrifice on the Cross, echoing the messages of reformers throughout the history of Christianity.
