Galatasaray Lisesi (Mekteb-i Sultani, or School of the Sultans), established in 1481 by Ottoman Sultan Bayezid II, is the most prestigious public high school in Istanbul, Turkey.[citation needed]

It is also famous for being the institution where the european champion soccer team Galatasaray SK was founded.
