Meige's syndrome

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Meige's syndrome is a type of dystonia, also known as oral facial dystonia or hemifacial spasm, the main symptoms of which involve involuntary blinking and chin thrusting. Some Meige's patients also have "laringeal dystonia" (spasms of the larynx). The condition tends to affect women more frequently than men. There is no cure although palliative treatments are available, such as Botox injections.
