Mehmet Akgün (born August 6, 1986 in Bielefeld) is a Turkish-German footballer who currently plays for Borussia Dortmund. In the 2005/06 season, he played in the amateur Borussia team, however he has been picked several times to play for the first team and has impressed on each occasion. The 3 goals in 39 games aren't a true reflection on his ability.
Akgün is currently busy alternating his life between his footballing career and his extra curricular studies. He is the son of Turkish parents and wears the number 19 for Borussia.
