Talk:MegaCon

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Having attended this convention for 7 years in a row, I find it to be one of the funnest places you can spend a weekend. Different years you will find a Space Shuttle Astronaught, to the cast from Smallville. The parking is pricey and 10+ bucks a day, and it's about $20 to get it. Once in, the plethora of costumes, from Storm Troopers to Star Wars, to Anime, to Gothic, is amazing. Can't forget the multi-peircing/tatoo people either!

You know what makes this fun? Everybody has a GREAT time, the problems are very few, and the staff really seem to like there jobs. In seven years, not one person was rude to me.

And there is a HUGE Comic book section, and I mean tons of old/new/classic books for sale of all types, not to mention, plastic/diecast models, rare DVDs, costumes, and so on.

They have tables set up in an artists area, for famous and budding artists. A longtime artist from MAD magazine gladly looked at your work and gave tips, all at no-charge. It's a great Artist to Artist time.

My personal highlight was meeting Dr.Smith of Lost In Space. He's past away now, but to shake his hand was a pleasure.

Almost forgot the gaming area, my son gets into Axis & Allies, along with other wargames, board games, and all types of minatures. Together we went to a 'paint your own figure', with a free paint and figure to paint, that was fun! Good fatther-son time.

I'm going again this year too, along with my son.
