Megaton Shotblast! is the first album released by De Facto, a side-project of At the Drive-In's Cedric Bixler Zavala and Omar Rodriguez-Lopez. Joining the duo was Jeremy Michael Ward, cousin of At the Drive-In's Jim Ward, and Long Beach Dub Allstars keyboardist Isaiah Ikey Owens. Largely instrumental, the album pulls influence from various genres, including electronica, dub, reggae, and even jazz. Omar Alfredo Rodriguez Lopez, playing bass guitar with De Facto, also plays guitar for The Mars Volta. Cedric Bixler Zavala is The Mars Volta's vocalist as well as De Facto's drummer.
