Megan Connolly

Megan Connolly (April 9, 1974 - September 6, 2001) was an Australian actress.

Connolly first gained notice in her 1990 film debut in The Crossing with Russell Crowe. She became one of Australia's leading soap stars with her role of Tori Hayden in Paradise Beach. After the show's sudden end in 1994, she hosted the childrens' show The Zone for a year.

In late 1995 Connolly hosted the fitness show Body Corp. She was a VJ for Foxtel's Channel V until early 1997. During this time she also starred in the stage musical Ressurected!.

In mid-1998, Connolly returned to soaps when she played Rebecca Nash in Home and Away. This was a short term role when she filled in for Belinda Emmett who had to take time off to undergo cancer treatment. Connolly also starred in Breakers.

After a year away from the industry, Megan died on September 6, 2001, from a drug overdose at the age of 27. She was found dead with a syringe by her side after injecting a lethal dose of heroin. A seat dedicated to her memory is situated at Mackenzies Point in Tamarama, Sydney.
