[edit] Request Information

Request made by: Sundar \talk \contribs 09:27, 25 October 2006 (UTC)
Where is the issue taking place?
The issue is about the edit wars happening at Carnatic music and non-convergent discourses at Talk:Carnatic music.
Who's involved?
User:Sarvagnya, User:Srkris, User:Aadal, Parthi
What's going on?
Aadal and Parthi want to insert some info about historic influences on Carnatic music by Ancient Tamil music. They have some sources to support that. Sarvagnya and Srkris want them to be removed and have made some provocative statements alleging chauvinism on the part of the other party. This escalated the problem resulting in the other party taking a rigid stance. This problem has spilled over in the form of wikistalking and bad faith comments in other articles' talk pages too.
What would you like to change about that?
I would want the issue settled amicably with consensus reached between the parties so that some of the fine editors engaged in this dispute start being more productive.
Would you prefer we work discreetly? If so, how can we reach you?

[edit] Discussion

While using the talk page of the article in question to solve a dispute is encouraged to involve a larger audience, feel free to discuss the case below if that is not possible. Other mediators are also encouraged to join in on the discussion as Wikipedia is based on consensus.

The case stated in the "what's going on" section above, is biased. User:Venu62 is collaborating with User:Sundar in a number of articles here on WP, and Sundar obviously has a soft corner for his friend. The statement of the case is therefore biased at the very start. Thanks for the understanding. Kris (☎ talk | contribs) 14:44, 28 November 2006 (UTC)
