Medusandraceae
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Medusandraceae is the botanical name for a family of flowering plants. Such a family (Medusandraceae Brenan, 1952) has been recognized by many taxonomists, as consisting of one genus, Medusandra. The best known species is Medusandra richardsiana, trees in tropical Africa.
The APG II system, of 2003 does not recognize such a family and leaves the genus Medusandra unassigned as to family order or higher grouping. This represents a slight change from the APG system, of 1998, which did recognize the family, but also left it unplaced.
