Medovukha is an immemorial Slavic vodka having rich history. It has deep national roots. Medovukha was a garnish of the table of our ancestors back in the period prior to Kyiv Russ, and wild-honey farming was one of the first Slavic trades. Our ancestors have revealed an amazing feature of honey – a fermentation. Thus, the first fermented honeys appeared as a pride of Slavic princes and a product of special value in Europe, where it was exported in huge parcels. The natural fermentation occurred within 15 to 50 years. Therefore, only the upper prince nobility could afford Medovukha. However, the Slavs were always distinguished with their headpiece and found that fermentation occurred much faster when the honey mixture was heated. Thus, Medovukha became a folk drink in the territory of Russ. In the 14th century, the invention of a distilling tank and a process of distillation made it possible to create a prototype of the modern Medovukha. In the 17th century, the increasing popularity of vodka eclipsed the former fame of Medovukha. During the rule of Peter the 1st, ancient receipts were lost. However, this original national products has no analogues owing to its marked feature – the honey, on the basis of which Medovukha is made. Medovukha is a true national pride! It had been developed long before the Scotch whiskey, Japanese sake or Mexican tequila.
It is the aforementioned reason what has made the leading production engineers of Ukraine to find the ancient receipts of Medovukha and create unique vodkas and liqueurs having Medovukha trademark on the basis of such formulas. Medovukha is made EXCLUSIVELY ON THE BASIS OF NATURAL INGREDIENTS, MAINLY, ON THE BASIS OF HONEY. "Image Holding" receives natural honey from several Ukrainian farms, including farms from Poltava and Cherkasy regions, and from Crimea and Carpathians. Such honey first undergoes a process of preparation for blending (this is a high tech process that can be afforded only by manufacturers having special equipment), then the pretreated honey is blended with crystal water to obtain the final product. Other manufacturers add concentrate to a prepared water-alcohol mixture. Thus, "Image Holding" THE FIRST IN UKRAINE who has successfully implemented a number of innovations in alcohol making.
