From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Mediumwave transmitter Mainflingen (Mainflingen C) is a medium wave transmission facility south of the A3 motorway near Mainflingen, Hessen, Germany. This facility, established in the 60s, transmits on the frequency 1539 kHz with a power of up to 600 kilowatts. Until December 31, 1994 it was used for transmitting the program of "Deutschlandfunk". Now it broadcasts the "Evangeliumsrundfunk" program. Its aerial is a 95 metre high guyed steel framework mast, which is insulated against ground. Until 1983 a dipole aerial hung on two 85 metre high masts at a height of 75 metres was also used. This aerial has since been dismantled.
