Mecheda (Bengali: মেছেদা) is a town in the West Bengal state of India. The town is in proximity to Haldia, Tamluk, and Midnapore.

The main source of pollution is the thermal power plant and ash pond near the town. During the winter weather is relatively warmer than other place in Purba Medinipur.
