Meadowbrook State Parkway
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Meadowbrook State Parkway is part of the Long Island State Parkway System, running half the length of central Nassau County, New York from North to South. It is unsigned New York State Reference Route 908E.
The parkway begins in the north at Mineola, the County Seat of Nassau, at the Northern State Parkway, near its intersection with the Long Island Expressway. The parkway then runs south, though what is to be named the "Nassau HUB" area, including exits adjacent to the Roosevelt Field Shopping Mall, Mitchell Field Park, Reckson Plaza (was called EAB Plaza), the Nassau Coliseum, Nassau Community College and Hofstra University. The parkway winds south, through East Garden City, Uniondale, East Meadow, and Merrick. Exits connect the parkway to the Northern State Parkway, Old Country Road, Stewart Avenue, Hempstead Turnpike, the Southern State Parkway, Babylon Turnpike, Sunrise Highway, Merrick Road, and Jones Beach's West End. At Merrick the parkway crosses the Great South Bay, towards Jones Beach Island and Jones Beach State Park, where it meets the Bay Parkway interchange and turns east, becoming the Ocean Parkway. Before the parkway reaches Jones Beach, the Loop Parkway meets the parkway, connecting it to Long Beach Island and the communities of Point Lookout, Lido Beach and Long Beach.
