[edit] About myself

Hello everyone, I am Minh Danh, currently an Electrical Engineering student at the National University of Singapore (NUS). Shortly after my admission to NUS in 2004, I became used to the amount of stress and hard work that an average NUS student has to suffer. I got to know Wikipedia at the end of 2005, when I had a project for my database systems module and encountered some difficulties understanding the technical concepts. Very soon I discovered that Wikipedia is so useful, and, best of all, most articles are open for editing to all users. The first time I tried to edit a page, I noticed a warning: you are welcome to edit the page; however, bad edits are watched out for and quickly removed. I decided to test whether this is true. I tried to blank an article and, wah, within the same minute as it was blanked, the old version was restored by another user. That was so great! I then decided to register an account and browse through random articles on Wiki, but did not contribute until recently.
As for now, editing wiki, watching out for messages on my talk page, and seeing how my edits are treated by other users are some of my online favourites, besides chatting and reading online news. I just can't stop!
[edit] Languages I speak
I have been learning English since I was at primary school. Now in Singapore, I speak English quite fluently (and gradually learn Singlish as well!). I studied French during period of 4 years while I was at secondary school. Now that I have forgotten most of what I learnt, I can only read very elementary French text and virtually cannot speak French any more.
If I have enough time next year, I will try to learn Chinese. It is quite commonly used in Singapore.

Pascal is the first programming language I have ever learnt in my life. I got to know it in 1997 when I was at grade 5 at primary school. At that time I had to practice Pascal on my very old 80386 computer but still I managed to write many complicated programs in Pascal. It is also the programming language being taught in most secondary and high schools in Vietnam.
I got to know C during my first semester in NUS. Later on we were taught how to program in C++ and Java. Pascal is no longer of common use. Nevertheless, I can still write Pascal programs quite well at this moment.
My web design skills using HTML and CSS were obtained during my high school days. I learnt SQL and ASP when I took the CS2102 (Database Systems) course in NUS. I also know a bit about JavaScript and VBScript. I am now learning PHP and JSP.
[edit] My contributions to Wikipedia
I often read computer and electronics-related articles on Wikipedia and often correct most minor mistakes that I see (spelling, grammar, incorrect wiki style, etc.). I only create new articles if that helps me with my study. I like articles about maths, physics and Singapore every once in a while (that reminds me of my wonderful high-school days). If I find nothing else to do, then most likely I click Random articles or do a random search on Wikipedia. If this is the case, then I will only edit the articles if they have been vandalised. I also contribute to articles on the same topics in the Vietnamese wikipedia.
