Mdantsane

Mdantsane is a township situated between East London and King William's Town in the Eastern Cape province. It is reputed to be the second largest township in South Africa after Soweto.
It is divided into eighteen zones or units named in the chronological order of the their being built. The central market, in N.U.2 (Zone 2) district is called "The Highway". Here many informal traders sell their wares on the streets and one may catch a taxi.
The primary language spoken in Mdantsane is Xhosa.
This town is a beautiful place! White people should use some caution when driving around, dont go in at night. The people here are very nice and are very poor but they are also a happy and humble people who belive in god very much. there are many differnt churches in this large town, people hold them out of there houses or where ever they can find space. Very few familes have cars so there are a lot of taxis EVERYWHERE, watch out for them they are not affrade to hit u. So if you want to see the real back bone of south africa this is the place to do it.
