McLennan Community College

McLennan Community College is a community college partially funded by the taxpayers of McLennan County, Texas. Located in the City of Waco, Texas, it was started in 1965. It now serves about 8,500 students and has over 600 employees. It is governed by a Board of Trustees elected from single-member districts in the county.

McLennan Community College (MCC) is located on the north side of town near the Bosque River and Cameron Park. It is one of three colleges in Waco, the others being Baylor University and Texas State Technical College. MCC offers Associate in Arts and Associate in Science degrees suitable for transfer to senior institutions. The school boasts numerous Associate in Applied Science degrees in fields ranging from healthcare and business to computer information systems. There is also a Law Enforcement and Fire Academy on campus. Enrollment in 2005 was approximately 8,500.
