The McLaren MP4/13 was a very successful racecar that the Mclaren Formula One team used during the 1998 Formula 1 season. The dominance of the MP4/13 was displayed in the opening race of the season, the 1998 Australian Grand Prix. Drivers Mika Häkkinen and David Coulthard outclassed the competition by leaving every competitor at least a lap behind.
While Ferrari's Michael Schumacher put up a good fight when the season progressed, Häkkinen became world champion that year. Also, McLaren won the constructors' championship, with Häkkinen winning eight Grands Prix and Coulthard one.
