MCAST is the Malta College of Arts, Science and Technology. It's mission is to "To provide universally accessible vocational and professional education and training with an international dimension, responsive to the needs of the individual and the economy".

The MCAST main campus is situated in Paola, Malta, yet there are several branches all over Malta & Gozo.

(L-Istitut ta' l-Inġinerija Mekkanika) The MCAST Mechanical Engineering Institute offers a range of full-time vocational courses that cover a number of disciplines in the field of Mechanical Engineering. Mechanical Engineering is a very important aspect of any modern knowledge based economy. Mechanical engineering plays a very significant and important part of every day life for all members of society. Mechanical engineering embraces transportation such as maritime, avionics and motor vechile as well as other areas like manufacturing and plant maintenance. Courses offered at the Mechanical Engineerin Institue prepare students for a fascinating career in a modern technology driven engineering sector.

The Mechanical Engineering Institute also offers courses in Motor Vehicle Engineering, which include body repair and spraying. This Institute works closely with the MCAST Electrical and Electronics Engineering Institute to ensure that all the engineering courses on offer at the Institute have the appropriate electrical and electronics content required by the modern engineering industry.

Students who enroll on vocational courses at the Mechanical Engineering Institute have a combination of theory, practical assignments and project work that is relevant to the specific engineering discipline chosen by the student. The institute provides vocational courses that start from the first level and provides progression higher to levels within the educational framework. Students' having the prerequisite qualifications may gain direct entry to the appropriate levels in accordance with the College's admissions procedure. All vocational course offered within the institute either lead to the world of work and employment or provide progression to higher level courses with the Institute.
