MC Det
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
MC Det is an underground MC primarily based in the jungle music movement. More recently he has appeared in many drum and bass gigs, gathering a cult following amongst fans of both musics.
His LP's are not well known, the most recognised being with "Jungle Owes Me Money", a correlation of Jungle with the appearances of other MC's and producers. MC Det is most known for his work with DJ Brockie and DJ Zinc.
His most mainstream stunt was his appearance with MC D, Shabba D and co. on a hip hop take video, aired on Channel U. MC Det has been, and still is a pioneer in helping the urban underground music scene of Jungle and Drum and Bass alive, and since the late 80s has been contributing to the input.
Even as Drum N Bass/Jungle changes, and becomes faster and more energetic, Det keeps the pace, and is a very respected figure in that particular underground music scene, as it grows into a bigger musical dominator.
