[edit] Neil Young
Please do not add nonsense to Wikipedia. It is considered vandalism. If you would like to experiment, use the sandbox. Thank you. Kevin 02:38, 29 April 2006 (UTC)
Hi. You accused me of adding nonsense to Wikipedia. You did not give me specific information regarding how I did so, but I can guess it was the Neil Young entry. I changed the description of his voice (alto v. tenor) and style (timbre, falsetto). I did it because I know something about music. I also referred to the MTV performance with Pearl Jam. I did that because I know something about the Seattle music scene (I was part of it). Kevin1243, don't be accusatory; you're not helping Wikipedia. You are going to turn people away who have expertise and relevant knowledge and believe in this mission of this site. Thank you. Mc4932 15:38, 29 April 2006 (UTC)
- It wasn't those bits, but your description of him performing "underwhelmingly". It seems quite POV, and was unreferenced. It's not our personal knowledge that Wikipedia is looking for, but verifiable, published information. If you can add your knowledge with some references then that's fine. Looking back, your first 3 edits don't look like vandalism at all, and I don't know why I tagged them as such. My apologies. Kevin 00:01, 30 April 2006 (UTC)
At this point I can't find a good reference for the "underwhelming" performance with Pearl Jam and understand if that word should be deleted. It's too much of a weasel word, no? My data are that I do remember the Seattle Post-Intelligencer commenting on the Neil Young/Pearl Jam performance along those lines (they wrote of our Seattle bands constantly), and I remember my community of friends talking about it. In retrospect, the overall response may have derived from a negative reaction to Pearl Jam, who did not show up for some concert with Nirvana around 1993 or 1994 (which I think ended up broadcast on MTV, perhaps called "Live and Loud" ??). Random Trivia: I was the one who requested and introduced "All Apologies" the very first time KISW ever played it in Seattle. Long time ago! Thanks for your reply, mate. [edit] Pics
Hey...you've done a great job. I moved the law school pic to "campus". It suits the section because it's a part of the loop campus, and makes the page less cluttered, which is the case when its beside the CTI pic. Hope you don't mind (of course feel free to change it back if you have a grander vision for the page...it seems to be your baby now).
Having pics for each section is a nice touch. I definitely think we need a picture of Richardson! I don't live in Chicago any longer, so can't really help. By the way, if you can get some more law school pics - maybe a picture of the visitor center (nice looking offices) in the Lewis Building, that would be fantastic. Great Job!! BTW I'm assuming the law school pic you got was public domain, so I just copied it to the law school site. FYI, I authored the DePaul Law site (after adding a depaul law section to the main depaul article)...if you hadn't guessed, I'm a depaul law grad. -- dufrenne (ps. if you want to respond, you can do so here, as I typically don't access my page..thx)
