The Dover 400 was the second of the NASCAR Nextel Cup stock car races held at Dover International Speedway in Dover, Delaware in 2006. This was the second event in the ten race Chase for the Nextel Cup. The race was previously sponsored by MBNA, but following the Bank of America buyout of MBNA it was decided that the race needed no sponsorship at the immediate time as a long-term partnership was desired.
