mberteig is Mishkin Berteig in real life.

I'm a Baha'i, father of three children, husband to Melanie Andersen, and a management consultant focusing on Agile work methods such as Scrum (management).

I was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada in 1972 but moved while I was still a baby to Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. I lived in Saskatoon for twenty-five years. After I completed my computer science degree at the University of Saskatchewan, I moved to Calgary, Alberta and then to San Francisco, California. I currently live in the town of Vandorf which is in the Greater Toronto Area in Ontario.

My name, Mishkin has two sources: Dostoyevsky's The Idiot (novel), and Mishkin Qalam a noted Persian calligrapher.

I currently run a small consulting firm, Berteig Consulting Inc. and I am the founder and primary contributor to Agile Advice.
