Mbeya Rural is one of the 8 districts of the Mbeya Region of Tanzania. It is bordered to the North by the Mbarali and Chunya Districts, to the South by the Mbeya Urban and Rungwe Districts, to the East by the Iringa Region and to the West by the Mbozi District.

According to the 2002 Tanzania National Census, the population of the Mbeya Rural District was 254,897.[1]
