Mb (digraph)

Mb (lowercase: mb) is a digraph present in many African languages where it is pronounced (IPA) /m͡b/ or /ᵐb/. It is also used in Irish to indicate the eclipsis of b and is pronounced [m]; for example ár mbád [ɑːɾ mɑːd̪] "our boat" (cf. [bɑːd̪] "boat"). The Irish digraph is capitalized mB, for example i mBaile Átha Cliath "in Dublin".

This digraph is not encoded as a single character in Unicode.
