Three girls, including Fumiyo Fujiyoshi, Mayumi (left of three), and Yoshimi Yahagi, lock up Noriko Nakagawa in a toilet stall during a flashback scene. The writings read: "Nakagawa Noriko, chibi, mushi, busu, shine!", which can be translated to "Die, Noriko Nakagawa! You ugly shrimpy nit!"

Mayumi Tendo (天堂真弓 Tendō Mayumi) is a character in the novel Battle Royale, and the film and manga of the same name. In the movie version, she was played by Haruka Nomiyama.

Mayumi has a blood type of B.

[edit] Pre-Program

Mayumi Tendo is one of the class of third-year students at the fictional Shiroiwa Junior High School. In the novel and manga, almost no details are given in the novel about her life before the program, except for the fact that she was rumored to have partaken in "telephone dating", which caused some to regard her as a slut; Hirono Shimizu knew that Mayumi appeared prim and proper but participated in the dating.

In the movie, she was one of many students who bullied Noriko Nakagawa.

[edit] During The Program

After Yoshio Akamatsu decides to snipe at students from the roof of the school, Mayumi happens to be the next student out of the school. In the novel and manga, Yoshio shoots her in the back with an arrow from his crossbow, thus making her the first student to die in the course of the actual game.

In the movie version, she is shot through the neck, and manages to speak to Shuya Nanahara briefly saying "Nanahara.. What should I do with this?" before she dies.
