Maylaffayza Wiguna was born in Jakarta, Indonesia on 10 July 1976. She is a solo pop-classic-crossover female violinist. She learned violin at the age of 9, and after achieving various musical merits at a young age, Indonesia’s renowned violin maestro Idris Sardi took her in as his only apprentice.
She was trained by stage diva Bertha, in “The Six Bars”. She has also been a student in Catharina Leimena’s “Gita Svara” vocal class, as well as an “Acting for Singers” class, which landed her a major part in the musical “Honk!”[citation needed].

[edit] Other accomplishments
On June 11 and 12 of 2005, Fayza took the theatre stage at the Jakarta Art Building in the musical comedy “HONK!” as the antagonist character “Cat”. “HONK!” is a musical adaptation of Hans Christian Andersen’s “The Ugly Duckling” and was produced by Gita Svara.
[edit] Maylaffayza and technology
Maylaffayza performs using her reliable Yamaha SV-110 Electric Violin. On other occasions, she whips out her Ted Brewer VIVO Electric Violin, custom-made in Sheffield, England. When she’s practicing at home, her wooden Skylark electric violin keeps her company during the daily practice.
Maylaffayza is also producing her own album using various gadgets that starts out on her laptop computer.
In November 2006, she did a collaborative performance in the island of Bali where she was playing solo violin while accompanied by a band playing in the city of Jakarta. The effort was made possible through internet connection using the INDLINE application.
[edit] The future of Maylaffayza
Fayza is now set on finishing her 1st Solo Album. The music concept of this album is said to be a breakthrough, as she combines the sounds of her violin’s strings with Hip Hop and RnB rhythms, with music references from the West blended with some Indonesian tunes. On several songs, Fayza also sings.
She has completed 12 songs for the album, but is still waiting for an investor to co-produce this avant-garde music. Maylaffayza's debut album will be released in 2007.
