Maxine Riddington is the co-author of Frances: The Remarkable Story Of Princess Diana's Mother, and The Lilac Days. Both books were written in collaboration with Gavan Naden.

'The Lilac Days' is the story of a secret love affair between Princess Diana's Grandfather, Lord Fermoy, and an ordinary American woman, Edith Travis. This account reveals the hundreds of love letters send across the Atlantic, giving insight into their impossible affair. It was published in 2005 in the UK by Harpercollins Pub Ltd.
