Maximilian von Herff

Maximilian von Herff (b. April 17, 1893 in Hannover; † September 6, 1945 in Windmere) was a German General of the Schutzstaffel.

The nobility von Herff has been an officer at the Reichswehr in the First World War. On April 1, 1942, he joined NSDAP (member no. 8 858 661) and joined the SS (member no. 405 894). On April 20, 1944, von Herff war promoted to SS-Obergruppenführer and General of Waffen-SS. From October 1, 1942 to May 8, 1945, he was in charge of the SS-Personalhauptamt. He died 1945 starb as a Prisoner of War at Windermere camp.
