Max von Essen

Max von Essen (born 11 January 1975) is an American actor.
A son of Thomas von Essen, who was the New York City Fire Commissioner during the 9/11 terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center, he was born in New York City, the youngest of four children.
He attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and after graduation began touring with Liza Minnelli, then toured Europe in West Side Story, then the U.S. National Tour of Chicago as "Mary Sunshine" (a role played by a man in drag).
His Broadway debut was in 2000 in the revival of Jesus Christ Superstar.
