David Maxwell (Max) French is a Canadian white supremacist and neo-Nazi. Until the 1980s, French was a member of the Nationalist Party of Canada and collaborated with its leader, Don Andrews. In 1989, French was one of the founders of the Heritage Front.

In August, 1989, French joined Wolfgang Droege, Nicola Polinuk, Wayne Elliot, Anne Ladas and his then-wife June French on a trip to Libya to celebrate the twentieth anniversary of Muammar al-Qaddafi's regime. The convergence of far-right and some far-left figures in Libya was an attempt to found an International Third Position. It also proved to be the genesis of a new neo-Nazi group in Canada, the Heritage Front.

In 1994, Max French ran for mayor of Scarborough, Ontario on a Reform Party/Heritage Front platform. Upon being revealed as a member of the HF, French was expelled from the Reform Party. French won 3% of the vote in his attempt.
