Mausam (Hindi: मौसम, Urdu: مؤسم, translation: weather) is a 1975 Indian movie directed by Gulzar.
[edit] Plot summary
Mausam is a love and drama story of Amarnath Gill who falls in love with a local healer, Harihar Thapa's, daughter Chanda when visited Darjeeling for his medical exams and after sometimes they both get intimate. Amarnath is called back but promises Chanda to return but never keeps the promise. After 25 years later, he returns as a wealthy man and searches for Chanda and her father, and finds out that Harihar has died and Chanda got pregnant and was forcedly married to an old man, gave birth to her daughter and became insane and passes away. Finding Chanda's daughter's Kajli he sees that she resembles just like her mother ad later gets to knows the truth about Kajli that she is a prostitute. What will be Amarnath's next step? Will he accept Kajli as his daughter? Will he accept a prostitute as his daughter? Or just leave her?
